The problem

Years of English classes. Still afraid to speak.

Most Rwandans study English for years at school. They know grammar rules and pass exams — and then freeze when a real conversation starts.

That is not a talent problem. It is a training problem: school teaches English as theory, but speaking is a skill, like driving. You learn it by doing it, with feedback, in situations that matter.

The Vuganawe way

Less theory. More speaking, feedback, and confidence.

Speaking in every session

From day one you talk — introductions, opinions, role-plays. The fear shrinks with every safe repetition.

Built on real situations

Interviews, meetings, customer calls, travel, small talk. You train the exact moments you will face.

Confidence is trained, not wished for

We use psychology-based techniques to dismantle the freeze response — because the blocker is rarely vocabulary.

Progress you can hear

Recorded speaking samples, level checks, and clear milestones. You hear your own before and after.

The learner journey

What changes, month by month

1

Week 1

You speak on day one. It is uncomfortable. That is the point — and it is safe.

2

Month 1

Daily situations stop being scary. You answer without rehearsing in your head.

3

Month 3

You hold real conversations, make calls, and speak up in groups.

4

Month 6

English is a tool you use — at work, in business, wherever you need it.

Success stories

Learners who speak now

Olivier R.
I live outside Kigali so I joined the online groups. Small group, camera on, speaking every session. It is real training, not watching videos. My calls with regional partners are easier now.

Grace I.
My children ask to go to English class. They come home singing and telling me stories in English. The monthly note about what they can now say is something no other school gave us.
Grace I.
Parent of two learners, age 7 and 10
Program: Children’s English Program
Jean-Paul H.
My suppliers are in Dubai and Nairobi. Before, my cousin handled every call. Now I negotiate myself. The business English course paid for itself on the first order.

FAQ

Questions people ask us

I studied English at school. Why do I still struggle to speak?

Because school trains English as theory — rules, reading, exams. Speaking is a skill, and skills need practice with feedback. Our training is built around speaking from the first session, which is exactly the part school usually skips.

What happens in the free consultation?

A 20-minute friendly conversation, partly in English. We assess your real speaking level (not your exam level), discuss your goal and schedule, and recommend a starting point. There is no obligation afterwards.

How long until I can speak confidently?

It depends on your starting level and practice time. Most learners feel a clear difference in daily situations within the first month, and hold real conversations comfortably around month three. We will give you an honest estimate in the consultation — anyone promising fluency in two weeks is not being honest.

Do you teach complete beginners?

Yes. Beginners start with high-frequency phrases and guided speaking from day one — slowly, safely, and in small groups where everyone is at the same level.
